Quick Apply Full-time 1 day ago Full Job Description Seed Sower is seeking 1 passionate, motivated lead peer recovery support specialist (PRSS) to join our Recovery Community Organization The Well in Beckley, WV.
Our ideal candidate has WVCBAPP certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist AS WELL AS training and certification as a Community Health Education Resource Person (CHERP) This position involves direct contact and mentorship for members of the recovery community in Raleigh and surrounding counties.
Existing CHERP certification highly desired, but not required The PRSS's role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder.
The PRSS will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent reoccurrence and promote long-term recovery.
The PRSS must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences, instill hope, develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships, and model successful recovery behavior and characterictics.
Peer Recovery Support Specialist Duties and Responsibilities Provides recovery information to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey, including pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
Recovery navigation - Functions as a Navigator for residents within the Advance Recovery Management System (ARMS) Platform (training provided).
Utilizing ARMS the navigator will conduct initial and periodic assessments and meetings to measure recovery capital, plan a recovery pathway, and engage the plan with the resident as a bridge from recovery treatment to self-directed recovery.
Promotes self-advocacy by assisting recovering individuals to have their voices fully heard.
Actively identifies and supports linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural and spiritual resources as well as mutual self-help groups, professional services, etc.
) that collaboratively support the recovering individual's goals and interest.
Supports connections to community-based mutual self-help groups.
Link individuals to appropriate professional resources when needed.
Provide vision-driven hope and encouragement for opportunities at varying levels of involvement in community-based activities, including work, school, relationships, physical activity, and self-directed hobbies.
Develops relationships with community groups/agencies in partnership with others.
Maintains reports and records in appropriate files, databases, and electronic health record.
Other duties as directed by the RCO Director or Executive Director Advocates for and respects all pathways to recovery Facilitates group meetings in an open and welcoming environment Facilitates recovery support group meetings Provides administrative and clerical support when necessary Peer Recovery Support Specialist Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate WVCBAPP Certified preferred CHERP Level I and II certifications preferred by not required Preferred candidate will have at least 24 months of verifiable stability in recovery.
Applicants with fewer than 24 months in verifiable stability in recovery may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Standard shift for this position is 8:
00 am - 4:
30 pm Monday through Friday, but some evening and/or weekend work may be occasionally required Moderate to strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office products Valid state driver's license and clean driving record.
Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Felony convictions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are not an automatic disqualifier for employment.
COMPENSATION:
Seed Sower offers competitive hourly rates based on qualifications, as well as an employer sponsored 401k plan with 3% match.
