Social Worker (PTSD Program Coordinator)

Develops working relationships with community agencies and other governmental agencies, often serving as the VA liaison or contact person. Represents VA at relevant townhall and community meetings. Regular contact with staff from other VHA facilities, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) office, and VA Central Office (VACO). Frequently involved in VISN and national VHA activities with Social Work peers, leaders, and managers from other disciplines. Collaborate in performance improvement processes and comply with VACO PTSD reporting requirements and performance measures for specific population and/or program. Utilizes electronic record keeping. Obtain/maintain certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers, per the American Heart Association training protocol or other training program as approved by the Medical Center. Tracking PTSD treatment for newly diagnosed OEF/OIF Veterans as well as overall clinic treatment of PTSD, in accordance with VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines, management of PTSD. Provide peer consultation to clinical staff wo provide PTSD treatment services. Provides evidence-based therapy to Veterans and eligible family members. Provides on-call support to the Emergency Room for Mental Health Services on a rotating basis with other members of the service line as assigned with on-call compensation and overtime, or compensatory time, paid if required to come provide services on site. Have a master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. For this grade level, applicants must be licensed at the advanced practice level. English Language Proficiency:
Social workers must be proficient in spoke and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j. Grade Determinations:
Senior Social Workers have experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. At least two years should be in an area of specialized social work practice. Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an ASWB advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice). Senior social workers may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the professional KSAs listed below:
In-depth knowledge of the program coordinated, and demonstrated knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. Knowledge and skill in management/administration, which includes supervision, consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet multiple deadlines, and evaluate assigned program area(s). Ability to provide training, orientation, consultation and guidance within clinical specialization of practice. References:

Performing activities involving sitting, walking standing, bending, and carrying such items as books, papers, files, and assisting with moving Veteran's personal items. The work performed will be within the medical center. The environment involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of offices, patient rooms, and in general, the medical center. It also involves normal risks associated with a medical center, including exposure to contagious diseases and disturbed patients.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
